“This will allow us to support our athletes in new ways. Whether that’s through small group education sessions, or specialist strength and conditioning classes.<\/p>\n
“What’s exciting is we will have access to a space we can fit out for our purposes.”<\/p>\n
Geelong Little Athletics secretary Ramona Browne said the new pavilion will help make Landy Field more accessible to the wider community.<\/p>\n
“More schools will hold their athletic events here, while local AFL and AFLW clubs could hold more training at Landy.<\/p>\n
“Private hire could also take place for events, special workshops, training days, clinics and sports-related medical services.”<\/p>\n
The pavilion is expected to be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n
Its development follows a $1.5 million track upgrade, completed in December, which saw the South Geelong facility’s ageing track replaced with a new surface in blue and grey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
