A FOCUS on batting depth during the off-season has helped Armstrong Creek\u2019s A1 take the next step in the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association, according to captain\/coach Daniel Maclean.<\/p>\n
The Titans finished as minor premiers and will host Barrabool in their first versus fourth knockout two-day semi-final, which starts tomorrow (Saturday, March 15).<\/p>\n
The Bulls claimed fourth on percentage after winning their tight finals race against Jan Juc, who finished fifth.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe fancy ourselves in two-day cricket, we believe we\u2019re a better two-day side than one-day side so we\u2019re excited to take it on again this week,\u201d Maclean said.<\/p>\n
After winning the A2 competition, the Titans are enjoying their third season in the BPCA top flight.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just missed finals in the first year, we played in a semi-final last year so we\u2019re hoping to go one better this year,\u201d Maclean said.<\/p>\n
It has thus far been a successful season for Armstrong Creek with their four men\u2019s teams in the finals.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the under-13s and women\u2019s (GCA E Grade East) won premierships last weekend.<\/p>\n
