{"id":113284,"date":"2025-04-10T04:00:26","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T18:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=113284"},"modified":"2025-04-09T17:19:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T07:19:01","slug":"manufacturing-excellence-recognised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/manufacturing-excellence-recognised\/","title":{"rendered":"Manufacturing excellence recognised"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG Manufacturing Council (GMC) has recognised the region\u2019s best manufacturers at its biennial Manufacturing Excellence Celebration and Awards Dinner.<\/p>\n<p>More than 200 leaders from industry, community and government gathered at Avalon Airport\u2019s International Terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The event is the largest dedicated celebration of manufacturing in the region and was held alongside this year\u2019s Australian International Airshow.<\/p>\n<p>Awards were presented to manufacturers that have succeeded in sustainability, innovation and overall manufacturing excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Godfrey Hirst, one of Geelong\u2019s oldest manufacturing companies, won both the Sustainability Excellence and overall Manufacturing Excellence awards.<\/p>\n<p>Local not-for-profit Gforce received the Community Award for its work supporting community apprenticeships and employment in manufacturing. while Austeng won the Innovation Excellence Award.<\/p>\n<p>GMC chief executive officer Jennifer Conley said the celebration and awards were a fantastic way to recognise the contribution our manufacturers make to the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeelong has always been and continues to be a manufacturing city.
