THE top-of-the-table Bellarine Storm women’s team is expecting a big test as it looks to continue its flying start to the Big V championship season.<\/p>\n
The unbeaten Storm will play Hume City for the second time in a month after comfortably winning 101-46 last time.<\/p>\n
But coach Tim Sanderson anticipates the match-up in Broadmeadows this Sunday, May 4 at 1pm will be tougher, with the Broncos’ American import Maddy Holland to play after missing the Round 2 clash.<\/p>\n
He said the forward, who hails from St Mary’s College in California, was a “very good all-round player”.<\/p>\n
“We’ve just got to be smart in how we’re playing her because she’s got multiple ways she can hurt us.”<\/p>\n
Sanderson said the Storm was sweating on the fitness of Alivia Osborne who sustained a foot\/ankle injury last weekend, while Charlotte Armstrong may miss again with an ankle complaint.<\/p>\n
The Storm has started its campaign with five straight victories after making the preliminary final last year.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the men’s team is hitting the road for an away double-header in the championship division this weekend.<\/p>\n
It first takes on Shepparton Gators at 7pm tomorrow (Saturday, May 3) and then Hume City this Sunday at 3pm.<\/p>\n
