MULTICULTURAL and multifaith communities across Victoria are being invited to help shape the future of the state’s multicultural policies and institutions.<\/p>\n

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt this week announced the start of community consultations for Victoria’s Multicultural Review, which will engage communities across 10 regional and metropolitan areas.<\/p>\n

The review, led by multicultural leader George Lekakis with a targeted advisory group, will recommend ways to strengthen systems, organisations and policies to support inclusion, resolve conflict and build social cohesion.<\/p>\n

An advisory group will run workshops and discussions to hear directly from multicultural Victorians.<\/p>\n

“Victoria’s multiculturalism is one of the most precious parts of our state \u2013 and it’s essential that our systems actively support inclusion, tackle discrimination and bring communities together,” Ms Stitt said.<\/p>\n

“We encourage all multicultural and multifaith communities to take part in this consultation process \u2013 your voices are integral in shaping the future of Victoria’s multicultural policies and programs.”<\/p>\n

Mr Lekakis said the review would help ensure diversity was recognised as a strength.<\/p>\n

“As someone who has dedicated my life to advocating for the rights and inclusion of multicultural communities, leading Victoria’s Multicultural Review is not just a responsibility \u2013 it’s a deeply personal mission,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This work is about ensuring every Victorian is included, valued, and can access government services. It’s about building a future where our diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated as a strength.”<\/p>\n
