GEELONG’S Northern Bay College will receive more than $829,000 to rebuild, partially rebuild and complete works on more than 31 ramps across its school campuses.<\/p>\n
It is one of 49 schools which will share in more than $17.3 million of funding from the state government’s Planned Maintenance Program.<\/p>\n
“I’m delighted to see Northern Bay College share in funding to give our students top quality facilities for learning,” Lara MP Ella George said.<\/p>\n
The program funds high-priority maintenance work across Victoria’s government schools.<\/p>\n
The funding allows schools to undertake essential work in classrooms and other school buildings such as fixing roofs and replacing windows, maintaining ramps, painting, and resurfacing floors, as well as some external works like improving pathways.<\/p>\n
Works are determined by a rolling facilities evaluation process, which provides up-to-date information on the condition of schools.<\/p>\n
Including the April round of funding, the program has funded $65.2 million for 211 projects at 207 schools in 2025.<\/p>\n
Minister for Education Ben Carroll said the Victorian government was constantly reviewing school buildings and facilities.<\/p>\n
