Photo: ABBY PARDEW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From local programs to world championships and the iconic Festival of Sails, this centre is a game-changer, not just for our members, but for the entire region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Sailing Centre marks the completion of the first stage of the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Project, which also includes the floating marina arm and Wangim Walk.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the centre was funded by the Victorian government, who contributed $13.75 million.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions also came from the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, City of Greater Geelong and the federal government as part of the Geelong City Deal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A NEW facility to support the region&#8217;s next generation of sailors has officially launched on the Geelong Waterfront.
