{"id":116445,"date":"2025-06-20T11:42:56","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T01:42:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=116445"},"modified":"2025-06-20T11:42:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T01:42:56","slug":"avalon-crash-leaves-two-seriously-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/avalon-crash-leaves-two-seriously-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Avalon crash leaves two seriously injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"335\">Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the Princes Freeway in Avalon yesterday morning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"337\" data-end=\"445\">Greater Geelong Highway Patrol officers said the incident took place at about 11.20am on Wednesday, June 19.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"447\" data-end=\"592\">A white Toyota Camry and a white Haval wagon were both travelling south-west along the freeway near a roadworks site when the collision occurred.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"594\" data-end=\"725\">Police said the Toyota struck the rear of the Haval as both vehicles merged, causing the Haval to flip over the median centre rail.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"835\">The 38-year-old male driver of the Toyota, from Maidstone, stopped at the scene and was spoken to by police.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"883\">His female passenger sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"1025\">The two occupants of the Haval, a 72-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman from Grovedale, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1027\" data-end=\"1073\">Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1243\">\u201cInvestigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam vision to come forward to assist them with their enquiries,\u201d Victoria Police said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1245\" data-end=\"1390\">Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at <a href=\"https:\/\/crimestoppersvic.com.au\"><strong data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1389\">crimestoppersvic.com.au<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the Princes Freeway in Avalon yesterday morning.
