They started well leading 18-6 at quarter-time and Carly Sanders shot 52 goals.<\/p>\n
The fifth-placed Power bounced back after losing to Torquay, Portarlington and Geelong Amateur.<\/p>\n
“The Portarlington one was probably disappointing to drop a game against a team below us,” coach Lisa Robinson said.<\/p>\n
“But in our game against Ammos, we put three solid quarters together. We just lapsed a little bit in one of the quarters.<\/p>\n
“We’ve still got improvement to do. We certainly need to be playing out four strong quarters for us to be competitive.”<\/p>\n
Newcomb host the in-form Drysdale in Round 13 tomorrow (Saturday, July 5) at 1.50pm.<\/p>\n
The fifth versus sixth clash is an important game in the race to secure a top five spot.<\/p>\n
“We only got over the line by one goal against them last time so this will be a really hard game,” Robinson said.<\/p>\n
“If we do drop it, we have the potential to drop out of the five.<\/p>\n
“It will be a game that we really need to be switched on for because Drysdale are certainly a really strong side but they are also improving.”<\/p>\n
The Hawks have won their past four games and recently beat the formidable Queenscliff 47-43.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Power’s Britt Collier has returned from having a baby earlier this year and added to the team’s midcourt depth.<\/p>\n
