	{"id":117127,"date":"2025-07-07T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=117127"},"modified":"2025-07-03T14:22:44","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T04:22:44","slug":"geelong-united-tacink-partnership-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/geelong-united-tacink-partnership-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Geelong United, TAC ink partnership deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG United Basketball (GUB) has announced a partnership with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) ahead of the 2025 Koorr Koorr Ngitji Tournament, which will take place in Geelong in November.<\/p>\n<p>The Koorr Koorr Ngitji Tournament is a celebration of community pride for Victorian basketball, encouraging positive pathways for all ages, genders and backgrounds and embracing sport, teamwork and connection.<\/p>\n<p>TAC chief executive officer Tracey Slatter expressed her excitement in partnering with the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re proud to be part of an event in our own community that uses the strength of sport to unite people and promote shared responsibility,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Koorr Koorr Ngitji is a perfect platform for supporting young people, celebrating culture, and encouraging safer travel behaviours as teams and families journey across the state to connect through basketball.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We hope this partnership can empower (Victorians) to be leaders and ambassadors for road safety.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The TAC plans to deliver a series of activations throughout the tournament, designed to engage players, families and fans with key road safety messages. GUB CEO Mark Neeld is also enthusiastic about the partnership.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Koorr Koorr Ngitji is more than a tournament \u2013 it&#8217;s a statement of unity,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re grateful to the Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative for shaping this event&#8217;s identity, and to TAC for supporting us in bringing its purpose to life.&#8221; The event is now in its fourth year.
