It was one of those losses you need to have, Joey. We were eight on the trot, so going for nine and just fell short of Bell Park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fellow panellist Nathan Brown then suggested:<br \/>\n\u201cI believe you felt that you were hardly done by by the men in white yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson replied:<br \/>\n\u201cLook, I think we\u2019ll have to revisit the tape and find out whether I&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The discussion returned to the subject a short time later, with Johnson adding:<br \/>\n\u201cI wouldn\u2019t mind knowing a little bit more about the umpire\u2019s background. That\u2019s all I\u2019ll say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When pressed on whether there were questions around the umpires\u2019 allegiances, Johnson said:<br \/>\n\u201cNot from me, but from potentially some other people around me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GFUL has since formally taken issue with the comments, describing them as inappropriate and potentially damaging to the reputation of community umpires.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the league said it remained committed to supporting its officials and ensuring they felt respected and safe, both on and off the field.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, a Geelong great and premiership star, is in his second season coaching Newtown and Chilwell.
