{"id":119114,"date":"2025-08-14T14:43:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T04:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/fans-queue-for-guy-sebastian\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T14:56:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T04:56:35","slug":"fans-queue-for-guy-sebastian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/fans-queue-for-guy-sebastian\/","title":{"rendered":"Fans queue for Guy Sebastian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of fans lined up outside Geelong Arts Centre last night (Wednesday, August 13) to catch Guy Sebastian at his \u201cOpen Door Session.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The free pop-up album release party attracted more than 350 people, with some of them lining up from 12 noon to see the pop-star.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the event, Sebastian performed <em>Maybe <\/em>off his new album, <em>100 Times Around the Sun<\/em>, released last week.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_167737\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-167737\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-167737 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/IMG_0665_30843-1024x683.jpg?_t=1755146471\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-167737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Gaylard Family joined the lines of people to see Guy Sebastian.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve worked on this album for over four years, and that\u2019s way too long for an album,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would write, I\u2019d be inspired and then get a bit of momentum and then I\u2019d have to jump into filming for <em>The Voice <\/em>or do something else.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was always busy and that\u2019s why I just decided to clear the diary and not do TV and just be in my studio and finish the album.<\/p>\n<p>Audience members were also treated to some of his biggest hits including <em>Battle Scars<\/em>, <em>Choir <\/em>and <em>Who\u2019s that Girl<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>While on stage, Sebastian shared a story with the audience about his love for Geelong and the region.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_167742\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-167742\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-167742 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/IMG_0806-1024x683.jpg?_t=1755146520\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-167742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Audience members were treated to four songs as part of the free Open Door Session.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m always reminded of Geelong because I took a photo many, many years ago,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a big panoramic photo I did of the Geelong Pier and it was at sunset and it was just beautiful and it\u2019s up on my wall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m always seeing Geelong everyday and mostly, I love coming here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The musician also spent some time once he was off stage meeting fans and signing albums.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of fans lined up outside Geelong Arts Centre last night (Wednesday, August 13) to catch Guy Sebastian at his \u201cOpen Door Session.\u201d The free pop-up album release party attracted more than 350 people, with some of them lining up from 12 noon to see the pop-star.
