MOUNT Duneed’s latest attraction has officially opened its doors, introducing Salt Water Swim Schools to the region.<\/p>\n

Located in the Mount Duneed Village shopping centre, the swim school features a 25m pool and a learn-to-swim pool.<\/p>\n

As part of its offerings, the new addition includes learn-to-swim programs, lap swimming and aqua aerobics, with the pools featuring a combination of saltwater with potassium and magnesium minerals.<\/p>\n

Salt Water Swim School’s chief executive officer Ilyas Kondos said the pool’s water was the factor that separated their business from others.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been teaching about 35 years, and it was the old salt and chlorine and I hated it, and we knew there was something better out there.<\/p>\n

“In relation to skin irritation magnesium is really great for the muscles, it’s a relaxation in that aspect, great conditioning, and also for the factor of kids with eczema and teachers teaching for three, four hours in the water, makes a massive difference.”<\/p>\n

The team is also committed to service and providing quality swimming lessons.<\/p>\n

Managing director Michael Makris said the business was massive on service for each customer<\/p>\n

“We are assessing each child, they’ve got access to all that on their customer portal, that’s also really important that we’re there and on deck speaking to families and how they are going to progress in the best possible way.<\/p>\n

“The feedback we’ve gotten from a lot of people, even though it’s only been our first week, is that it’s not happening where they are elsewhere, and that’ a real credit to us and we can maintain that moving forward.”<\/p>\n

The Mount Duneed venture has been five years in the making and was initially identified as a gap in the market, especially for young families who are surrounded by water.<\/p>\n

Mr Kondos said their research of the growth area led them to decide Mount Duneed was the right location.<\/p>\n

“There wasn’t much in relation to a facility of this size that could offer learn-to-swim program, also offer lap swimming, specialise with safety weeks and those components.”<\/p>\n

The Mount Duneed facility joins the Salt Water Swin Schools located in Point Cook and Truganina.<\/p>\n

Other retailers will soon be added to Mount Duneed Village, including an IGA supermarket, childcare, and a medical centre.<\/p>\n
