The top two sides will play for the premiership at <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/second-times-the-charm-as-grovedale-wins-division-1-gf\/\">Lara Recreation Reserve<\/a> this Sunday, August 31 at 12.15pm, one year on from the same matchup in last year\u2019s Grand Final that saw Grovedale win by eight points.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers beat the Ammos just a fortnight ago to book a spot in the last game of the year, leading all day and prevailing by 19 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Ammos, who had the second chance, smashed Thomson by 41 points last weekend to set up the rematch.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/second-times-the-charm-as-grovedale-wins-division-1-gf\/\">Division 2 Grand Final<\/a> will be played afterwards at 2.30pm, between South Barwon and Geelong West.<\/p>\n<p>After finishing the home and away season on equal points, both teams also played off in the Qualifying Final two weeks ago, where the Swans prevailed by 25 points.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_168460\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-168460\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-168460 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/08\/epworth-gf-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-168460\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Division 2 contenders South Barwon and Geelong West have already played each other in this year&#8217;s finals.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Giants held Newtown &amp; Chilwell to just one point in last weekend\u2019s preliminary final, winning by 58 points.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, St Joseph\u2019s will take on Torquay tomorrow (Friday, August 29) at Anthony Costa Oval in the Under 18 Grand Final.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/second-times-the-charm-as-grovedale-wins-division-1-gf\/\">Joeys beat Bell Park<\/a> in the Qualifying Final to book a berth in the Grand Final, while Torquay first won their Elimination Final over Ocean Grove and then smashed the Dragons in the Preliminary Final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GROVEDALE and Geelong Ammos will face off again in the AFL Barwon senior female football Division 1 Grand Final this weekend.
