This Women\u2019s Health Week (Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5), the Kardinia Health Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis (PPE) Clinic is encouraging women to follow this year’s theme and \u201cSay yes to you\u201d.<\/p>\n

The clinic is a multidisciplinary, primary care team dedicated to supporting women\/people assigned female at birth<\/a> who experience pelvic pain and\/or persistent endometriosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith an estimated one in four women\/people assigned female at birth experiencing persistent pelvic pain, and one in seven diagnosed with endometriosis by the age of 49<\/a>, finding the right support is pivotal in reducing delays to diagnosis and management of symptoms,\u201d Kardinia Health\u2019s Dr Caitlyn Pring said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo often, women with pelvic pain have been told their symptoms are \u2018normal\u2019, or put their own health and wellbeing second to those around them.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur aim at Kardinia Health PPE clinic is to provide a safe space for people to feel listened to, and have access to a team of experienced practitioners who address symptoms holistically and work with our clients to create individual plans that prioritise their wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The service provides regular nurse contact and support, alongside access to specialist GPs and allied health including pelvic health physiotherapists, dietitian, psychologist and pain educators.<\/p>\n

It is accessible to any female\/person assigned female at birth who has been experiencing pelvic pain for more than six months. A diagnosis of endometriosis is not required.<\/p>\n

Telehealth options are available for some appointments, and you do not need a referral to access.<\/p>\n
