THE Royal Geelong Show bursts to life tomorrow (Thursday, October 16) promising four action-packed days of thrills, entertainment, rides, agriculture and family fun.<\/p>\n
Headlining the arena this year is internationally renowned horseman and bush poet Guy McLean, making his Geelong Show debut.<\/p>\n
showcase the remarkable skills of the Australian stockman \u2014 from working cattle and sheep to the deep connection between rider and horse.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to take it to the highest level,\u201d McLean said. \u201cThe level that I used to win two world championships and a young horse starting championship in Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve performed all over \u2014 New York City, Canada, America \u2014 there\u2019s nowhere else I would rather be than in our beautiful Australia at the Geelong show.\u201d<\/p>\n
McLean said audiences can expect plenty of surprises.<\/p>\n
\u201cExpect that this is the kind of show you would want to see from someone who has devoted their entire life to horses. I\u2019ve been on and around them since I was 16 months old,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in love with the Australian stock horse breeds since I was a young boy and they were my hero.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Royal Geelong Show will run until Sunday, October 19.<\/p>\n
