{"id":122398,"date":"2025-10-22T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=122398"},"modified":"2025-10-15T21:53:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T10:53:07","slug":"corangamite-cma-chair-board-members-depart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/corangamite-cma-chair-board-members-depart\/","title":{"rendered":"Corangamite CMA chair, board members depart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is undergoing a period of renewal, farewelling four long-term board members, including chair Cath Jenkins.<\/p>\n<p>Fiona Cummings, Ken Latta, and Lia Sarto also conclude their tenure, having collectively contributed over two decades of dedicated service to the Corangamite region and its natural environment.<\/p>\n<p>Cath Jenkins has served as chair of Corangamite CMA since 2021 and as Chair of Vic Catchments, the peak body representing Victoria&#8217;s 10 CMAs.<\/p>\n<p>Her tenure has been marked by strategic vision, strong governance, and a deep commitment to community, sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cath&#8217;s leadership has ensured the CMA remains deeply connected to its regional community, championing innovative approaches to natural resource management and actively supporting Landcare and rural women&#8217;s networks,&#8221; Corangamite CMA chief executive officer Dr Amber Clarke said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/VicCatchmentschairC_80545.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cath Jenkins (right), as chair of Vic Catchments, receives the Banksia Award in 2024.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Her presence and care for staff have made a lasting impact.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As chair of Vic Catchments, Ms Jenkins played a key role in fostering sector-wide collaboration and elevating the profile of CMAs at state and national levels.<\/p>\n<p>Departing board members Ms Sarto, Mr Latta and Ms Cummings have each brought unique expertise and passion to the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On behalf of our staff, partners and stakeholders, I sincerely thank our Chair and all of our outgoing members for their incredible contribution,&#8221; Dr Clarke said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each has helped shape our strategic direction and strengthen our governance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>New board members will be appointed by the Minister for Water following a public application process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is undergoing a period of renewal, farewelling four long-term board members, including chair Cath Jenkins.
