{"id":123838,"date":"2025-11-20T04:00:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T17:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=123838"},"modified":"2025-11-19T16:06:23","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T05:06:23","slug":"viva-backs-16-northern-sports-clubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/viva-backs-16-northern-sports-clubs\/","title":{"rendered":"Viva backs 16 northern sports clubs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VIVA Energy has announced the continued support of 16 Geelong sporting clubs for another three years.<\/p>\n<p>These partnerships, with a combined value of more than $130,000 annually, focus on Geelong\u2019s northern suburbs near the Viva Energy Hub which includes the Geelong refinery, ensuring that local families have access to vibrant and inclusive sporting opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The sponsorships are a key part of Viva Energy\u2019s broader Community Program, which aims to improve access to local services.<\/p>\n<p>They also create opportunities for people to participate in sport, helping men, women and children stay healthy and engaged.<\/p>\n<p>Viva Energy is continuing to support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bell Post Hill Football &amp; Netball Club<\/li>\n<li>Corio Bay Soccer Club<\/li>\n<li>Corio Community Sports Club (Corio Devils)<\/li>\n<li>Corio Little Athletics Centre<\/li>\n<li>Corio Pool Club<\/li>\n<li>Corio Soccer Club<\/li>\n<li>Geelong Football Club<\/li>\n<li>Geelong Rangers Soccer Club<\/li>\n<li>Geelong Soccer Club<\/li>\n<li>Geelong Galaxy Soccer Club<\/li>\n<li>Lara Sporting Club<\/li>\n<li>Lara United Football Club<\/li>\n<li>North Geelong Cricket Club<\/li>\n<li>North Geelong Football &amp; Netball Club<\/li>\n<li>North Geelong Warriors<\/li>\n<li>North Shore Football &amp; Netball Club, and<\/li>\n<li>North Shore Seagulls Cricket Club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAs one of the largest employers in Geelong\u2019s northern suburbs, it is important that we play an active part in the community and we are proud to support grassroots sporting clubs in the area,\u201d Viva Energy executive general manager of energy and infrastructure Bill Patterson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSport is more than just a game \u2013 it\u2019s a vital part of community life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want local clubs to remain strong and be welcoming spaces for people of all ages to stay active and connected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Corio Little Athletics president Marty Sanders said Viva Energy\u2019s long-term commitment to local sport showed the company\u2019s commitment to Geelong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir support provides essential funding that keeps clubs thriving and ensures they remain an important part of community life.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VIVA Energy has announced the continued support of 16 Geelong sporting clubs for another three years.
