LOCAL businesses are being invited to help spread the Christmas cheer by decorating their shopfronts this festive season.<\/p>\n

Traders are being encouraged to dust off the tinsel and bows and enter the City of Greater Geelong’s window dressing competition.<\/p>\n

The business judged as having the best display will win $1,000.<\/p>\n

All participating stores will be supplied a big red bow to get their decorating under way.<\/p>\n

Homewares boutique Townhouse Living in central Geelong has already set the bar high with its festive wonderland.<\/p>\n

Interior designer and stylist Bridget Ryan said it was a special time of year.<\/p>\n

“We love creating a bit of magic at Christmas time.<\/p>\n

“Celebrating these times and traditions is so important to our team and our customers.”<\/p>\n

Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj encouraged business owners from across the region to get involved.<\/p>\n

“When our shopfronts come alive, the whole city feels brighter,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It’s a wonderful way to celebrate creativity and Christmas spirit while supporting our traders. I can imagine Geelong looking like one big Christmas storybook.”<\/p>\n
