THE native nursery sector will be celebrated next week with an inaugural event on Thursday, November 27.<\/p>\n

Held by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) and Melbourne Water, the Native Nursery Expo will connect nursery staff and volunteers to share knowledge and strengthen collaboration across the region.<\/p>\n

“Native nurseries play a vital role in restoring landscapes and supporting biodiversity,” Corangamite CMA Regional Landcare Coordinator Kylie McLaren said.<\/p>\n

“This event is about celebrating their contribution and creating stronger connections across the sector.”<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the expo will be a panel discussion and presentation that includes Otway Greening Indigenous Nursery founder Mike Robinson-Koss, Bellarine Landcare Group Indigenous Plant Nursery’s Beth Ross and Southern Otway Landcare Network’s Arabella Imhoff.<\/p>\n

Children will also be entertained with hands-on activities including a nature bus and milestone demonstration.<\/p>\n

The free event is supported with funding from the state government’s Victorian Landcare Program and will take place at Eden Oak in East Geelong.<\/p>\n
