WHITTINGTON residents have been invited to attend the City of Greater Geelong’s next Neighbourhood Conversations event, which will take place on Wednesday next week.<\/p>\n

Cheetham Ward councillor Melissa Cadwell and city staff will be available to chat about local projects, answer questions and hear feedback.<\/p>\n

The city’s customer service team will be also be on site at Whittington Neighbourhood House to receive service requests and help with downloading and using the city’s app.<\/p>\n

Neighbourhood Conversations are bimonthly visits to communities across Geelong, giving residents the chance to discuss what matters most in their area and provide feedback on items open for community consultation.<\/p>\n

Community engagements now open on the city’s Have Your Say page include applications for the 2026-28 Council Advisory Committees:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee<\/p>\n

LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee<\/p>\n

Women in Community Life Advisory Committee<\/p>\n

Environment and Circular Economy Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n

The Community Engagement Policy review also opened for community consultation online on Wednesday this week at yoursay.geelongaustralia.com.au\/community-engagement-policy-2025-2029<\/p>\n

Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj said the Neighbourhood Conversations program is an important way to connect directly with residents.<\/p>\n

“It’s important to have face-to-face conversations to discuss matters big and small that help shape our vision for Geelong’s future.<\/p>\n

“Greater Geelong is a creative and diverse City and our community has many great ideas about how we can make it even better.<\/p>\n

“These visits are about listening and learning \u2013 we’d love to see the community there, even if you just want to pop in and say hello.”<\/p>\n

Cr Cadwell encouraged residents to take part.<\/p>\n

“We need to listen to the community’s ideas and concerns to make sure we’re representing the interests of everyday hardworking residents,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Improving our city is about everyone having a voice and working together to find solutions and good outcomes.”<\/p>\n
