THERE are just two weeks left for households to get involved in this year’s Electric Homes Program.<\/p>\n

Run by Geelong Sustainability and delivered in partnership with trusted local suppliers, the program offers exclusive pricing on a range of renewable products such as hot water heat pumps, solar and battery systems, and home insulation.<\/p>\n

Support is also available for the first time for electric vehicles and e-bikes.<\/p>\n

Since its launch in 2023, the program has engaged thousands of households across the region and supported more than 600 to make renewable upgrades designed to cut bills, improve comfort and support the shift away from gas.<\/p>\n

Geelong Sustainability chief executive, Jane Spence, said the strong response reflects increasing community interest in healthy, efficient homes.<\/p>\n

“We’ve had a great response to this year’s program so far, which shows just how many households want healthier, most comfortable homes with lower running costs,” she said.<\/p>\n

“The Electric Homes Program makes the process easier and more accessible \u2013 no matter where you’re starting from.”<\/p>\n

With registration for this year’s program closing on December 31, she encouraged anyone considering upgrades to get involved.<\/p>\n

“We’re encouraging anyone who wants to save on energy bills and boost home comfort to register now,” Spence said.<\/p>\n

“We’ve designed the program to give residents confidence and make it as easy as possible \u2013 providing vetted suppliers, quality products, great customer service and transparent pricing.”<\/p>\n

The Electric Homes Program is open to all residents across the City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire, Colac Otway Shire and the Borough of Queeenscliffe.<\/p>\n

Every system sold through the program contributes to the donation of solar and hot water heat pumps to not-for-profit organisations across the region, with Anglesea’s Sirovilla Retirement Village, Phoenix Housing and Samaritan House recent recipients.<\/p>\n
