Photo: CITY OF GREATER GEELONG<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The city says the consultation process held in July drew strong community support, with almost 300 contributions received.<\/p>\n<p>A project reference group, which included representatives from key sporting associations and a local sports club, also helped guide the masterplan&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n<p>Charlemont Ward councillor, Emma Sinclair, said updates to the final masterplan were made to reflect the community&#8217;s input.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We asked the community what they thought, and their feedback helped shape the final plan,&#8221; | she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will be an inclusive space with something for everyone \u2013 whether it&#8217;s sporting clubs playing games, families enjoying a picnic, or friends meeting at the playground.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Construction on the sporting hub is scheduled to begin in 2027, with completion expected in 2028.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A NEW sporting and recreation space is on the way for Armstrong Creek residents.
