Photo: VicEmergency<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Heavy rain has already been recorded in the region this morning, with 45.6mm falling at Mt Cowley in Lorne in the hour to 11.15am.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are being urged to prepare to take shelter, park vehicles undercover and away from trees, and remain indoors if conditions become dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>People are also encouraged to check on family members and neighbours if it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers are warned to avoid floodwater and low-lying areas, and to be alert for mud, debris and damaged roads or bridges.<\/p>\n<p>For life-threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000).
