THE search is on for the next generation of Parks Victoria rangers, with outdoor enthusiasts encouraged to apply for 11 roles within Southwest Victoria.<\/p>\n

The state environmental body is recruiting motivated, hands-on people to strengthen its frontline and keep local parks accessible, safe and thriving.<\/p>\n

Rangers will tackle a diverse range of jobs from community engagement and controlling weeds to keeping tracks, toilets and barbecues in shape.<\/p>\n

Successful recruits will gain experience in everything from bushfire preparedness to cultural heritage protection.<\/p>\n

They will work alongside Traditional Owners, communities, volunteers and partners to contribute positive outcomes for people and nature.<\/p>\n

Those onboarded will also be offered ongoing development and the chance to work in the state’s most loved places.<\/p>\n

Parks Victoria chief executive Lee Miezis said the body’s latest recruitment drive is dedicated to getting back to basics and putting more boots on the ground.<\/p>\n

“Our rangers are so important to Victoria \u2013 whether it’s in one of our urban parks, a marine sanctuary, a campground or a wilderness area, everyone benefits from the work they do and the passion they bring to each day,” Miezis said.<\/p>\n

“New recruits will join established, purpose-led teams who work at the forefront of outdoor recreation and conservation.<\/p>\n

“This is a great opportunity for people who feel drawn to the great outdoors to play an active role in keeping Victoria’s parks accessible, safe and thriving.”<\/p>\n
