Firefighters from Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) have “safely resolved” a hazardous chemical fire in North Geelong that started earlier today (Monday, March 2).<\/p>\n

FRV responded to the incident at 8.31am today<\/a> after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a fire in Roseneath Street.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear what the two chemicals involved with the fire were, and a community advice warning was issued for the nearby area.<\/p>\n

This afternoon, an FRV spokesperson said firefighters entered the 40m by 20m factory and worked their way through it, while also conducting atmospheric testing to ensure safety.<\/p>\n

FRV concluded its on-site activities at 11.13am, and the vapour cloud generated by the chemical fire has dissipated and cleared.<\/p>\n

WorkSafe has been notified of the incident.<\/p>\n
