A woman has died following a devastating early morning house fire in Norlane, prompting a major investigation by Arson and Explosives Squad detectives.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to a block of units on Thompson Road about 3am on Tuesday, 31 March, after reports of a fire.<\/p>\n
Fire crews worked quickly to bring the blaze under control before making a grim discovery inside one of the properties.<\/p>\n
An unresponsive woman was located within the unit.<\/p>\n
Despite efforts by emergency responders at the scene, she could not be revived. She is yet to be formally identified.<\/p>\n
Two local men have since been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
A 35-year-old Norlane man and a 38-year-old Breakwater man are currently assisting police with their enquiries.<\/p>\n
