	{"id":129263,"date":"2026-04-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=129263"},"modified":"2026-04-01T23:00:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T12:00:11","slug":"artist-collaboration-drives-new-bells-look","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/swell-magazine\/artist-collaboration-drives-new-bells-look\/","title":{"rendered":"Artist collaboration drives new Bells look"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RIP Curl has partnered with Melbourne artist Amy Jean to deliver a bold new merchandise range for the 2026 Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach.<\/p>\n<p>The collection, launched in late February, features a bold, graphic style shaped by Amy Jean&#8217;s illustration work.<\/p>\n<p>She began designing gig posters, album covers and T-shirts for friends and local bands around 2010, and works across digital illustration, ink and brush, and lino carving.<\/p>\n<p>Her style draws on art nouveau linework, bold lettering and themes including strong women, horror and religion.<\/p>\n<p>Her client list includes King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard, Amyl &amp; The Sniffers, Puscifer, DZ Deathrays, Jameson, PBS FM and Peking Duk.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership for this year&#8217;s Bells Beach merchandise was sparked by a mutual connection between Rip Curl staff and King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/04\/0MUWTE_1000-1_22645.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"742\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The collection features a bold, graphic style. Photo: Rip Curl.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rip Curl head of men&#8217;s design Casey Egan said the team jumped at the opportunity to work with the artist.<\/p>\n<p>We just loved what she was doing,&#8221; Egan said. &#8220;Her style is so unique and youthful and we briefed her and off we went.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She drew up this incredible destination-like piece that has the full bay and the bowl, with an incredible font.
