Photo: Supplied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Funded through support from Cosmopolitan Lodge Queenscliff Freemasons, the Western District Freemasons and the Freemasons Foundation Victoria, the network works in partnership with Down Syndrome Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>That backing has supported a growing program of local initiatives since late last year, aimed at reducing isolation and building stronger connections. Events like a night at the football also help families unaware of the resources available find their place.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re really trying to reach out to those people so that they know that we&#8217;re here if they need or want or need support through the Down Syndrome Victoria organisation,&#8221; Penfold said.<\/p>\n<p>She said it is important for everyone to receive the same opportunities to enjoy what the community has on offer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just because you&#8217;ve got Down syndrome doesn&#8217;t mean you&#8217;re different to anyone else; you still want to feel socially included,&#8221; Penfold said. &#8220;You still want to be part of a community. You want to be seen.
