Police are investigating a fatal crash near Bannockburn this morning after a van and truck collided head-on.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Bannockburn-Shelford Road about 7.40am following reports of a collision.<\/p>\n

Police said it is understood the impact forced the van down an embankment and into a tree.<\/p>\n

The driver and sole occupant of the van, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The truck driver, who was also the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured and stopped at the scene.<\/p>\n

Ballarat Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.<\/p>\n
