Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson is heading to Geelong this winter, bringing his new solo tour to the Eureka Hotel as he prepares to release his second solo album 10Charlie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jamieson will play the Geelong venue on 4 July as part of his newly announced PJ AIR tour, a 40-plus-date run through pubs, theatres and regional venues across Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cPJ AIR is a BIG adventure,\u201d he said. \u201cMy co-pilot is Ricky Albeck and I can\u2019t wait to play for you all.<\/p>\n

\u201cSongs will be sung, and stories will be told.\u201d<\/p>\n

The PJ AIR run will see Jamieson perform new songs from 10Charlie alongside fan favourites spanning his career with Grinspoon and his solo catalogue.<\/p>\n

The tour announcement arrives alongside the release of Jamieson\u2019s new single Weekends, the first taste of 10Charlie, due out on 14 August.<\/p>\n

Known for helping shape Australia\u2019s alternative rock scene through the late 1990s and 2000s, Jamieson said the new material leaned into personal storytelling and reflection.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeekends. It\u2019s a destination. It\u2019s a place among the tall pines. It\u2019s a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, diner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can go to Weekends on a Monday. It\u2019s a place to agree or disagree.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe song is built around intimacy and hope \u2013 and it has some fun guitars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamieson described 10Charlie as his most personal record to date.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis album is much more personal than my first record,\u201d he said. \u201cIn times of intense turbulence, I\u2019ve written what I\u2019ve needed to hear.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a balm for my soul. 10Charlie is a boarding pass. You are not in the exit row; your luggage can be stored under the seat in front of you. Please follow all cabin crew directions and fasten your seat belt for take-off.\u201d<\/p>\n
