The rebuilding process has moved quickly, with an architect appointed before the end of 2024.<\/p>\n
Diamond said the project presented an opportunity not only to replace what had been lost, but to create spaces better aligned with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model.<\/p>\n
“It gave us an opportunity to rethink the way the classrooms are set up so that we can better provide for those programs,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We have a number of students here who were supported through out-of-school allied health professionals, so we were able to think about that in the design of the space as well.<\/p>\n
“Hopefully we’ve future-proofed a bit and we’ve definitely made it a space that’s going to be perfect for the current students.”<\/p>\n
Builder Melbcon was appointed on earlier this month and work has already begun on site.<\/p>\n
Carroll said there was potential for the project to be completed ahead of its expected June 2027 opening date.<\/p>\n
George said the fire and its aftermath had been a difficult experience for families, but northern Geelong had shown its resilience throughout the recovery process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
