Geelong football fans will be able to share in the excitement of the Socceroos\u2019 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, with a free live site confirmed for the city.<\/p>\n
Johnstone Park Forecourt will host a regional live screening of Australia\u2019s opening match against T\u00fcrkiye on Sunday, June 14, giving local supporters the chance to gather in central Geelong and cheer on the national team.<\/p>\n
The Geelong event is part of a broader Victorian Government live site program, with screenings also planned for Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Gippsland and Shepparton.<\/p>\n
AAMI Park and Federation Square will host live sites for all three of the Socceroos\u2019 group-stage matches, while regional live sites will screen the opening game.<\/p>\n

The free live sites will feature big screens, passionate crowds and a strong sense of community, allowing fans to experience the atmosphere of a major international tournament beyond the stadium gates.<\/p>\n
Minister for Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the World Cup would bring people together across the state.<\/p>\n

Minister for Tourism Natalie Suleyman said the screenings would also support regional communities.<\/p>\n

Security measures will be in place at Federation Square for Melbourne screenings, including fencing, entry gates, bag searches and hand wands.<\/p>\n
