THE Design Exchange Winter Market is returning to Ballarat Mining Exchange for its 16th year, ready to warm shoppers from Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 June.<\/p>\n
With heated floors, free live music, over 70 incredible stallholders, artisan food and an impressive range of handmade products, fashion, homewares, jewellery, art and gifts, there’s sure to be a cosy experience that suits everyone.<\/p>\n
“We are incredibly proud to be Ballarat’s longest-running design market and to continue creating opportunities for talented makers, artists, designers and creative small businesses to connect with new audiences,” The Design Exchanges’ Lyndelle Flintoft said.<\/p>\n
Over the years, The Design Exchange has welcomed thousands of visitors and showcased hundreds of creative businesses, becoming a much-loved part of Ballarat’s cultural landscape.<\/p>\n
“This year, we’re delighted to be collaborating with local businesses including Hotel Vera and GRABA SPOON to bring visitors a series of exciting giveaways and special promotions leading up to the event,” Flintoft said.<\/p>\n
“We are also thrilled to be part of the Ballarat Winter Festival program, adding to the vibrant atmosphere that transforms the city throughout winter.”<\/p>\n
An exciting addition to this year’s market is the Clay Hub, a curated collective of ceramic artists travelling from across Victoria to showcase their work.<\/p>\n
From functional pieces to sculptural artworks, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the makers and discover some of the state’s most exciting ceramic talent.<\/p>\n
“Whether you’re searching for a special piece for your home, a unique gift, or simply a wonderful day out, you’ll find plenty to explore,” Flintoft said.<\/p>\n
She suggests arriving with a healthy appetite to make the most of the enticing food options.<\/p>\n
“The incredible team from Scroll Society will be serving up their famous scrolls, pastries and sweet treats throughout the weekend.” she said.<\/p>\n
“Out the front, Tim’s Slow Cooked Meats food truck will be dishing up hearty winter fare guaranteed to warm you up while you explore the market.”<\/p>\n
Whether you’re craving something sweet, a slow-cooked feast or simply a great coffee while you wander, there will be plenty of delicious options to keep you fuelled as you browse, shop and enjoy the atmosphere.<\/p>\n
Entry is $5 for adults with under 17s free and Fintoft suggests heading to the Design Exchange website and joining the mailing list to keep up with stallholder announcements, the live music line-up and giveaway details.<\/p>\n
