Photo: Peter Marshall.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cayzer said the team knows it must lift its level if it wants to play in September and is confident the group can do the work required.<\/p>\n<p>The recent bye came at the perfect time, allowing players to rest and refocus.<\/p>\n<p>Wing defence Caitie Kennedy was among those to benefit, recording 12 gains in the win.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She had an absolute ripper on the weekend. She worked really hard attacking that ball and had such an incredible game,&#8221; Cayzer said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s improving every single week and it was really exciting to see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy joined the club from South Barwon in 2025 and has quickly become an important part of the Coutas, including off-court leadership roles.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/B07K9611-Queenscliff_87424.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Queenscliff&#8217;s Keely Kinsey takes a pass in the Couta&#8217;s attacking third. Photo: Peter Marshall.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cayzer said the midcourter has been a pleasure to coach and continues to influence the group positively.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s found her feet completely this year and she is an absolute sponge \u2013 you couldn&#8217;t ask for more as a coach,&#8221; Cayzer said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You tell her to do something and she goes out there and from the first ball she is doing it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Midcourters Anne Church and defender Jessica Rankin missed the win through injury, allowing Lucy Mawson and Felicity Rush to step up from B-grade.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/B07K9566-Queenscliff_87493.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"430\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Phoebe Knox looks for a pass into the goal circle. Photo: Peter Marshall.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cayzer said the pair&#8217;s performance reflected the club&#8217;s commitment to developing depth and future-proofing its playing group.<\/p>\n<p>The Coutas are focused on building momentum through their final six games, starting with this weekend&#8217;s clash against Newcomb.<\/p>\n<p>Cayzer expects a strong contest against the Power, who have been one of the competition&#8217;s surprise packets despite sitting seventh on the ladder.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We won&#8217;t be taking this week lightly.
