THE Leopold Library will be a hive of activity during the school holidays, with a schedule of events planned for both the young and the young at heart.
\nIt is part of a raft of free and paid activities offered throughout summer by the City of Greater Geelong across the municipality.
\nOne highly energetic but surprisingly quiet highlight on the calendar will be the silent disco on January 22 from 4-7pm. Children aged 12-18 are invited to bust out their best dance moves at the drug-, alcohol- and smoke-free event.

\nAre you up for the Lego Challenge? Test your building skills by completing as many of the Lego Challenge creations as possible in one hour.
\nSuitable for ages 8 and up, it will be held on January 15 from 10.30-11.30am.
\nBudding game designers aged 10 and up can build their own video game with Bloxels in a four-week course in February.
\nBecome the writer, artist and developer with coloured blocks and a 13-bit layout. Create game rooms, characters and objects, and then watch your game world come to life. For bookings, email cysmanager@grlc.vic.gov.au<\/strong>.
\nHave you heard of the slow flowers movement? It is all about taking the best care of your flowers and the environment by letting things grow at their own pace, in their true season, with the help of bees rather than chemicals and pesticides.
\nLocal grower Simone McKenzie will explain the movement at the library on January 14 from 5-6pm, and attendees will take away a sample of sustainably grown flowers
\nThe Friday Flicks sessions will host free screenings of classic films from
\nthe archives.
\nFlower Drum Song (the 1961 film adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical) will be screened on January 10, while Pygmalion (based on the George Bernard Shaw play of the same name) will be screened on February 14. Both events will run from 10.30am-12.30pm.
