Breast Cancer Network Australia<\/a> (BCNA), who provide free information and support to Australians directly affected by a breast cancer diagnosis.
\n\u201cWe went to the Ocean Grove Football and Netball Ladies Day and it was really successful, so this year, we modelled parts of our event off that,\u201d Ms Turner said.<\/p>\n\u201cThere will be a large grazing table in the middle, a silent auction and raffles. We have a breast cancer survivor coming along to chat with us and members from Ocean Grove\u2019s BCNA group will be attending.\u201d<\/p>\n
Starting at 2pm and running until 5pm, friends, sisters and mothers will be entertained with live music and receive a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival.<\/p>\n
\u201cTickets are $25, local musician Sam Hanson \u2013 who\u2019s a former Ocean Grove cricketer \u2013 will be providing live music and entertainment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cricketers will play with pink stumps, pink pads, cricket bats and balls across the day. We\u2019re expecting around 100 people with 70 tickets already sold; tickets are also available on the door.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Vose said the response from the community had been amazing, with businesses and local organisations more than happy to donate.<\/p>\n
\u201cConsidering everything going on with the bushfires, the generosity of the community has been amazing. We really want to thank everyone who has contributed.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of our social committee members Nicole put the call out on the community noticeboard and businesses were happy to donate, we\u2019re so appreciative to have gotten anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Turner said everyone was welcome to head along and enjoy a great afternoon while raising money for an important cause.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy aunty died of breast cancer, it\u2019s one of those things that has all kind of touched us. Come along and wear a touch of pink – this club has had a few breast cancer survivors, so we just want to give back.\u201d<\/p>\n
