Photo: MICHAEL CHAMBERS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In Saturday\u2019s Elite Women\u2019s Race, German rider Liane Lippert (<a href=\"https:\/\/teamsunweb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Team Sunweb<\/a>) crossed the line all alone to claim victory.<\/p>\n<p>Lippert attacked on the last climb to finish 15 seconds ahead of the chasing group in the opening race of the 2020 UCI Women\u2019s WorldTour calendar.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34448\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34448\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34448\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/EWR-1-Getty-scaled-e1580873902242.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34448\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Liane Lippert (Team Sunweb) celebrates her win.<br \/>Photo: GETTY IMAGES<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I had a really good look at the course and I know I\u2019m really explosive,\u201d she said. \u201cI can do efforts like this pretty good \u2013 three minutes full gas. So I knew I might end up alone or with one or two riders but in the end I was alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She finished ahead of 2019 winner Arlenis Sierra (Astana) and 2016 winner Amanda Spratt (Mitchelton-SCOTT).<\/p>\n<p>Dries Devenyns beat Pavel Sivakov (Team Ineos) in a two-man sprint in Sunday\u2019s Elite Men\u2019s Race to make it back-to-back victories for Deceuninck -Quick-Step.<\/p>\n<p>The pair escaped from a larger group in the final five kilometres of the 171km race to ensure a sprint finish.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34449\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34449\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34449\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/Elite-Men-1-scaled-e1580874003643.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34449\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dries Devenyns (right) salutes as he crosses the line just ahead of Pavel Sivakov (Team Ineos). I like this race a lot,\u201d Devenyns said. \u201cEach time I\u2019m here I make a good effort \u2013 last year for (Elia) Viviani and the year before also.
