Looking to try a new hobby, up your exercise routine and meet likeminded people? Look no further than Seaside Swing.<\/p>\n

After a busy 2019, the local dance group is back and ready to host its first workshop of the year.<\/p>\n

Local teachers Sean Loughran and Rochelle Harding are offering an afternoon of classes for beginners and thrill seekers this Saturday, February 29.<\/p>\n

The pair have been teaching together since 2017.<\/p>\n

A drummer and music teacher, Sean has been dancing for more than 15 years while Rochelle took up dancing in 2015. <\/p>\n

Sean said swing dancing helps make a repetitive exercise regime fun. <\/p>\n

\u201cSwing dancing \u2013 or Lindy Hop \u2013 is the perfect way to meet different people, learn how to connect and move with a partner and dance to amazing music,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s energising, and such a fun way to stay active.\u201d <\/p>\n

Seaside Swing committee member Christine Flowers said the purpose of the group was to keep swing dancing alive in the region. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe love the chance to introduce this fun, creative activity to new people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an open and welcoming community, and we\u2019re thrilled to be offering classes in Torquay and Geelong for 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first Torquay workshops of the year will take place this Saturday, February 29 from 1-5pm and are open to people of all ages and genders (no partner is required).<\/p>\n

Workshops will take place at Torquay Senior Citizens Hall (16 Price Street, Torquay).<\/p>\n

Participants can choose to take place in either both workshops ($35) or one ($25). Both options include a guided practice session.<\/p>\n
