CLOUDS of colour wafted through the sky above Torquay Front Beach on Sunday when hundreds of local families turned out for the Festival of Colours. <\/p>\n
Organised by Hare Krishna Valley and sponsored by the Surf Coast Shire Council, the event is a cultural celebration which honours the \u201coneness\u201d of human spirit. <\/p>\n
Its origins can be traced back to India, with the festival a symbol of the blooming of colours that arrive in autumn and spring. <\/p>\n
Attendees spent the glorious sunny day throwing coloured powder over their friends and family while listening to live music. <\/p>\n
Surf Coast Shire mayor Rose Hodge was among those to take part, with Andy Meddick MP also showing his face in support. <\/p>\n
Cr Hodge said the festival was one of her \u201call time favourite events\u201d. <\/p>\n
