There\u2019s no better time to make riding to school part of your routine,\u201d Ms Hargreaves said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRiding to school is free and fun, helps you avoid fighting for a car park at the school gate and can also help students perform better in the classroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Grove Primary School teacher Megan King said this year would mark a decade of the school\u2019s involvement, and encouraged children and their families to take part in the initiative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many benefits to riding to school; it increases your physical activity, which results in a healthy and happier lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is less traffic around if students are taking active transport as parents are not driving to drop off and pick up students and there is a greater sense of community when walking and riding with others from school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>National Ride2School Day is a free event open to all primary and secondary schools in Australia. Schools who register for the day receive a resources pack including posters, promotional material, stickers and a count sheet to tally the number of students who ride to school.<\/p>\n<p>Schools can register to participate in National Ride2School Day at <a href=\"http:\/\/ride2school.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">ride2school.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OCEAN GROVE Primary School will be taking part in National Ride2School day on March 13 for the 10th year in a row.
