By the 2016 Census, the population was 364, showing a population decline of 80 per cent in the area during that time (this anomaly is due to boundary changes as part of the Armstrong Creek growth corridor implementation).<br \/>\nLike the neighbouring emerging suburbs of Armstrong Creek and Mount Duneed, Charlemont has rapidly changed from a pastoral and rural living area to more intensive urban living area housing more than 1,000 residents with its southern border at Boundary Road.<br \/>\nThere have been 661 land sales recorded in the suburb of Charlemont since 2016.<br \/>\nPopular residential estate <a href=\"http:\/\/charlemontrise.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Charlemont Rise<\/a> is the most significant development in this emerging suburb with another leading development, Ashbury Estate, starting at Charlemont\u2019s southern boundary.<br \/>\nCoreLogic data indicates that the predominant age group in Charlemont is 42-52 years with households in Charlemont being primarily couples with children and are likely to be repaying $1,400-$1,799 per month on mortgage repayments.
