Torquay-based business DBM Signs is using their expertise to help the community stay safe during coronavirus by offering free floor decals for local businesses.<\/p>\n
With more than 30 years\u2019 experience DBM Signs, who specialise in signage and digital printing, has been busy providing signage and stickers for medical centres, hospitals and chemists and owner Darryl Bailie-Mace said he saw an opportunity to help the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cI saw how the government\u2019s restrictions were hitting our local businesses and thought the sooner we can get past this the better for everyone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt that providing floor decals was something we could do to help contribute to local businesses and the community at this time to help reinforce social distancing guidelines, keep staff and customers at safe working distances, while helping businesses control customer queues and lines, and help stop the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n
\u201cBusinesses can place them outside the entry to their business or internally on floors to help keep the message front of mind for customers and staff alike.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have a textured non-slip surface, suitable for carpet, concrete, vinyl and timber floors and can be removed cleanly when finished with and subject to volume of foot traffic wear and tear and weather exposure will last approximately three to six months.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven when restrictions do start to be lifted the social distancing and hygiene message is going to be with us for some time yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
DBM Signs was originally established in Torquay as Bailie Signs in 1986 by Darryl Bailie-Mace as a traditional hand painted signage business.<\/p>\n
With the advent of computerisation and digital printing, and the needs of a growing business, Darryl decided to re-launch the business from new commercial premises with a plan to “distinguish and brand DBM Signs as the signage and digital print specialist on the coast”.<\/p>\n
He relaunched the business from its current location in August 2004 as DBM Signs and Digital Printing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe offer a range of signage and digital printing products for the Surf Coast, Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Melbourne markets.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur products are primarily custom signage, stickers and digital printing made to order and we are able to help the client with initial design work, through to manufacture and installation.\u201d<\/p>\n
