It worries me, the traffic; we have enough trouble with parking in this street,\u201d she said.<br \/>\n\u201cThey\u2019ve only got two car parks for each unit but they\u2019re four bedrooms with ensuites. They\u2019ll have visitors, where will they park? There\u2019s nowhere. I\u2019m aware something will be built, but not to that extent.<br \/>\n\u201cEveryone else has two units. Where we live you\u2019ve got to expect that, but not four units three storeys high and right on my boundary.\u201d<br \/>\nCity of Greater Geelong planning, design and development director Gareth Smith said the council received 18 objections to the application.<br \/>\n\u201cThe site falls within a Residential Growth Zone, which encourages a diversity of housing types in locations that offer good access to services, activity centres and transport.<br \/>\n\u201cThe site is located in the Increased Housing Diversity area in accordance with the policy at Clause 22.63 of the Greater Geelong Planning Scheme. The proposal still must satisfy the residential development standards (Clause 55) in the planning scheme.<br \/>\n\u201cThese standards include assessment against a number of criteria, including matters such as overlooking, overshadowing and the design detail.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32451\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32451\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-32451\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2020\/05\/Dare-Street-concept-1024x402.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"251\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32451\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">An artist\u2019s impression of the development.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Plans for the site by Sincock Planning state the site is located within the Residential Growth Zone, which intends \u2018to provide housing at increased densities in buildings up to and including four-storey buildings\u2019.<br \/>\nThe planning report also states the site is located within an area designated by the council for increased densities, through both the land zoning and the Increased House Diversity Areas Policy applicable to the land.<br \/>\nHelen Healey, who lives behind the site, said the plans &#8211; previously available on the MILA Development Group site &#8211; would mean her backyard would be entirely overlooked.<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019ve been living here for 50 years.
