THE state Labor Government has released the final concept design for the Queenscliff boat ramp upgrade, which will make it easier for boaters to get out on the water than ever before.
\nMinister for Fishing and Boating Jaala Pulford revealed the design that includes more boat ramp lanes, new pontoons and separate kayak access, as well as 89 marked parking spaces for cars and boat trailers.
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve listened to boaters about how they want the Queenscliff boat ramp to look and feel and now we\u2019re delivering it,\u201d Ms Pulford said.
\n\u201cWe\u2019re committed to improving boating facilities across the state and these upgrades will make it easier and safer for more people to get out on the water.\u201d
\nBetter Boating Victoria worked closely with the Queenscliff community to develop the final design, which will improve the overall safety of the facility, with better traffic flow and safer pedestrian access.
\nBellarine MP Lisa Neville said the improvements were important for locals who wanted to get out on the water and enjoy everything the beautiful waters off Queenscliff have to offer.
\nA reference group will be established to help ensure ongoing community engagement during the upgrade. The structure and the terms of reference for this group will be worked through in the coming weeks.
\nThis upgrade is part of the Labor Government\u2019s $47.2 million investment to improve boating facilities across the state and is one of six priority locations that will be upgraded to meet recreational boating demands as Melbourne\u2019s population grows.
\nConstruction is expected to get under way next year.

Anglesea
\nStill a few whiting are being caught in close
\nStill schools of salmon around with some nice catches off the beaches and the point.
\nThanks to the Rusty Anglers Angling Club Anglesea
\nBarwon Heads
\nReports out of Ocean Grove are pretty much the same
\nThe odd snapper reported
\nFlathead are still around as well
\nThe river seeing some reports of mullet, trevally with some mulloway also reported in the river
\nOff the beaches, salmon are still being caught.

Torquay
\nSome whiting catches are being reported
\nThe occasional pinkie as well
\nSome flathead reports
\nSalmon are also still being caught off local beaches
\nSpring Creek still producing small bream.

Queenscliff
\nSt Leonards is still seeing reports of King George whiting, flathead, squid, and a few snapper
\nClifton Springs reports snapper, some good whiting, a few calamari, gummy shark and flathead are still around
\nQueenscliff reports of whiting, trevally, flathead, and squid continue
\nThe Creek reports some trevally as well as a few salmon
\nSwan Bay reports a few calamari, whiting and flathead near the mouth
\nPoint Lonsdale reports a few salmon, trevally, whiting and the odd snapper
\nThe White Lady is still seeing a few whiting, calamari, and snapper
\nIndented Head reports flathead, a few King George whiting, snapper as well as the odd calamari.<\/p>\n
