{"id":33658,"date":"2020-07-23T01:05:09","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T15:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=33658"},"modified":"2020-07-23T01:05:09","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T15:05:09","slug":"your-armstrong-creek-town-centre-is-opening-in-less-than-a-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/your-armstrong-creek-town-centre-is-opening-in-less-than-a-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Your Armstrong Creek Town Centre is opening in less than a week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE region\u2019s environment features as design elements throughout a vibrant community precinct which will open to the public next week, giving you a new place to shop, experience and enjoy.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sneak peek of the new Armstrong Creek Town Center.\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tHfNYX6Noe0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youractc.com.au\/\">Armstrong Creek Town Centre<\/a> will welcome the community on July 29 for its Grand Opening with anchor tenants Coles and Liquorland opening its doors, as well as Anytime Fitness, Terry White Chemmart, Beauty Genesis, Coral Massage, Common Lane Caf\u00e9 and Dumpling and Sushi Hub, providing an easy and convenient<br \/>\nshopping precinct.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40327\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40327\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-40327 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/07\/B07K2130-Armstrong-Creek-Town-Centre-Terry-White-Chemist-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40327\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Terry White Chemmart is among the retailers opening next week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Developed by Wel.Co, Armstrong Creek Town Centre is a sustainable, pedestrianised and vibrant town centre which will foster a sense of community, with more cafes, retailers, and a cinema to open at a later date.<br \/>\nConstruction of Stage One began more than a year ago and situated on the Surf Coast highway, passers-by have watched the landmark $1 billion development come to life.<br \/>\nFormer Essendon footballer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welcogroup.com.au\/\">Wel.Co<\/a> managing director Andrew Welsh said the centre was a space designed with neighbouring estates, residents of the greater area and visitors in mind.<br \/>\n\u201cWe wanted to bring a real coastal feel to the centre, it\u2019s been designed with the region in mind,\u201d he said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe architects and I drew inspiration from the Otways, the Surf Coast and Bellarine, local parks and native fauna such as the Bellarine yellow gum..<br \/>\n\u201cThe design of the first stage, and future stages, has taken elements from nature and the region into account and those elements have been incorporated into the design.\u201d<br \/>\nArmstrong Creek Town Centre\u2019s logo features a red gum tree leaf with veins representing community connection.<br \/>\nClarks Hopkins Clark vision director and architect Dean Landy said architects looked at the project wholeheartedly and designed Stage One\u2019s town centre to be complemented by a larger pedestrianised precinct.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_40328\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40328\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-40328\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/07\/B07K2126-Armstrong-Creek-Town-Centre-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40328\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Armstrong Creek Town Centre will open next week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The space will be a civic, residential and commercial precinct once completed, and will feature tree-lined streets with names including Winkipop Walk, Kettlefish Street, Lagoon Parade and Halfmoon Drive after iconic surf beaches.<br \/>\n\u201cAll the elements will connect together; residential, entertainment, commercial, offices and a whole mix of uses that will create a vibrant town centre,\u201d Mr Landy said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe heart will be around the town square, which will be framed with cafes and retail spaces. Developers have invested in a screen here which will be a community area to watch games and events.
