Bellarine Community Health (BCH) is making some changes to its services as a result of the coronavirus restrictions, but says it is still committed to supporting the health and wellbeing needs of the community.<\/h3>\n

The organisation’s chief executive officer Shane Dawson said COVID-19 had presented many challenges in terms of balancing demand for services and ensuring BCH could operate in a safe environment.
\n“As a result, we continue to adjust how and where we are delivering services.\u201d
\nFrom the week starting Monday, August 24, BCH Drysdale in Palmerston Street will be open from Monday to Wednesday only. All clients affected by this change are being notified. The restricted operating hours at the Drysdale site will be in place until further notice.
\nTo support younger people, staff will be available for face to face appointments at the Drysdale Youth site on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
\nBCH Portarlington and the GP Clinic along with BCH Point Lonsdale remain open Monday to Friday. The reintroduction of Stage 3 restrictions has forced a delay in the reopening of the Gym at Point Lonsdale. The BCH Ocean Grove site remains closed.
\nBCH<\/a> has numerous COVID safe protocols in place to minimise the spread of the virus and keep staff, volunteers and clients safe.
\n\u201cSome people are anxious about attending appointments at the moment which is understandable, but I want to reassure the community that BCH has COVID safe operating procedures and we are doing everything we can to provide services to our community,\u201d Mr Dawson said.
\nTo help slow the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Health and Human Services are distributing 2.1 million reusable face masks. BCH staff and volunteers have been putting packs of masks together to distribute to clients who meet the eligibility criteria including Meals on Wheels clients, Social Support and Home Care Package clients.
\nBCH is also extending its community transport service to assist vulnerable people with access to food shopping or medical appointments until the end of September.
