CRAIG Drummond will be the new president of the Geelong Cats, with Colin Carter announcing last week that he would step down from the role.<\/p>\n

Drummond – who will take up the presidency after the club’s annual general meeting in January – joined the Geelong board<\/a> in early 2011. He is chair of the club\u2019s finance and audit committee and a member of the club\u2019s foundation board.<\/p>\n

He is a highly successful executive and has been the chief executive officer of Medibank since 2016.<\/p>\n

Before joining Medibank, Drummond was group executive finance and strategy of National Australia Bank, having joined NAB in November 2013. At NAB, his focus was the strategic realignment and repositioning of the bank, its balance sheet and its performance management systems.<\/p>\n

Before this, Drummond was chief executive officer and country head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Australia).<\/p>\n

Earlier in his career, Drummond joined JBWere, a leading Australian stockbroker and wealth manager, in equity research and subsequently held roles including chief operating officer, chief executive officer and executive chairman of Goldman Sachs JBWere.<\/p>\n

Carter’s last day as president will be during the Cats’ AGM on January 28. He has served as Geelong president since December 2010.<\/p>\n
