BELLARINE-based state MP Lisa Neville will take three months of leave as she recovers from treatment for Crohn’s disease.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued this afternoon, the Minister for Water, Police and Emergency Services said she had successfully managed living with the auto-immune disease for 32 years.<\/p>\n
However, she said the recent progressive worsening of her condition required her to be admitted to hospital last week.<\/p>\n
“I am working with my doctors on my recovery and will be guided by their advice on when my physical health can allow me to return to work, which at this stage they believe will be in three months’ time.<\/p>\n
“I also ask for privacy during this time as I focus solely on my health and wellbeing.”<\/p>\n
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said Ms Neville was a “highly valued, relentlessly dedicated” member of his team.<\/p>\n
“She has our full support in taking the time to focus on her recovery, and we look forward to welcoming her back as soon as her health allows.”<\/p>\n
