{"id":38330,"date":"2021-04-01T00:12:45","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T13:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/drysdale-rotary-changes-name-but-keeps-motto\/"},"modified":"2021-04-01T00:12:45","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T13:12:45","slug":"drysdale-rotary-changes-name-but-keeps-motto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/drysdale-rotary-changes-name-but-keeps-motto\/","title":{"rendered":"Drysdale rotary changes name but keeps motto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROTARY Club of Drysdale has changed its name after 46 years to remain progressive.<\/p>\n<p>The new name will be <a href=\"https:\/\/rotary9780.org\/ClubInfo\/bellarine-north\">Bellarine North Rotary Club<\/a>, which better represents all of its members who are spread across the Bellarine and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Publicity officer Caroline Rickard said progress meant that sometimes people had to make adjustments to how they go about things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Rotary Club of Drysdale does not for one minute want to lose any of its 46-year history, but after many years of consultation with past and present members, the big decision was made to change to our club name, from Rotary Club of Drysdale to Bellarine North Rotary Club,\u201d Ms Rickard said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our members are spread across the Bellarine and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing will change except the name; we will still support our motto of \u2018Service Above Self\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Rickard said Bellarine North Rotary Club would continue to honour its four-way test:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is it the truth?<\/li>\n<li>Is it fair to all concerned?<\/li>\n<li>Will it build goodwill and better friendships?<\/li>\n<li>Will it be beneficial to all concerned?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAcross the globe for over 100 years, 1.25 million members of Rotary International have and will continue to meet together to improve the world we live in,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur baton relay celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia showed that the organisation has stood the test of time and will continue to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not about the name, it\u2019s about the people.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ROTARY Club of Drysdale has changed its name after 46 years to remain progressive.
